Trident Tactical Technical The new SEAL shop MikeT3

Mike Atkinson, CEO T3.
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Mike served at SEAL Team EIGHT in the first Gulf War. He then left active duty and continued his service in the Naval Reserve. While earning an MBA from Columbia University, Mike embarked on a notable financial services career. His experience included positions at Salomon Brothers, and a family office that ran what was left of the Vanderbilt fortune. After business school, Mike joined a very successful multi-billion dollar hedge fund/growth equity manager in San Diego, CA. His financial career culminated in a 14-year run as the co-founder and co-manager of a multi-sector equity asset management business in Princeton, NJ. Throughout this time, Mike maintained close contact to the SEAL community. Seeing an opportunity to use his experience to address problems facing the SEAL Teams, Mike returned to San Diego in the summer of 2008. T3 was formed to address these issues and to act as a bridge between the SEAL Teams and the wider world

Mark Ellingson, President T3 Law Enforcement.
A veteran of 12 years of active duty experience in the SEAL teams, Mark first met Mike in basic training and the two remained colleagues through advanced tactical training. Mark participated in the invasion of Panama as a member of SEAL Team FOUR and was decorated for action in combat with the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor device. He was then commissioned in the Seaman to Admiral Program. A field of thousands of applicants was narrowed to 1,139 qualified applications and only 50 were selected. Mark graduated number two in his class of 50. Among his numerous military qualifications, Mark was a Navy SEAL sniper and sniper instructor. Due to family health concerns, Mark left active duty. He then joined U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray, where he was an Institutional Equity Salesman, rising to the rank of Assistant Vice President. From there, he worked as a Sales Representative for Johnson & Johnson. Upon his departure, Mark was the number one ranked representative out of a 240-person sales force. For the last five years, Mark has served as a police officer in a 50-man department serving Newburgh, NY. Newburgh is an active workplace with 25,000 calls for service and 2,000 annual arrests. During this time, Mark has been the assistant team leader and training officer for the force’s tactical team and President of his local PBA.

Shane Reilly, President T3 Military.
Shane retired from the SEAL Teams in June 2010 after a successful and highly decorated 21-year career (Bronze Star, Joint Commendation, and Navy Commendation Medals, all with Valor devices), including time in the Iraq conflict during some of our nation’s most trying months. He was commissioned in the highly selective Seaman to Admiral Program, where only a few exceptional sailors are selected for scholarship and commissioning. His job just prior to retirement was the Executive Officer (number two man) at the Basic Training Command (BTC) at the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Center. BTC is responsible for the most sacred duties in maintaining the exacting standards of the famous Basic Underwater Demolition/ SEAL, (BUD/S) training. Shane’s first duty station in the Teams was at SEAL Team EIGHT in the early 1990s, where he and Mike first met. Among his numerous military qualifications, Shane was a Navy SEAL sniper

Authenticity

A U.S. Navy SEAL is one of the world’s elite soldiers, a product of the most grueling military training regimen ever developed. Consequently, SEALs are also the most discriminating consumers of tactical and outdoor gear. In the eyes of a SEAL, many of the products marketed today as high-end durables are actually inferior consumables.

Furthermore, the suppliers of these so-called durables are often little more than pretenders. They promote themselves as “experts” when, in fact, they served without distinction or commendation―and in some cases never served at all.

But T3 is a different kind of company, one that embodies the character and moral code of the Navy SEALs. In all our business and personal dealings, we abide by a single guiding philosophy: authenticity.

T3 is wholly owned and operated by former U.S. SEALs. We retain high-level ties to the U.S. military and deep connections to our many friends still serving at SEAL teams around the world. We would never jeopardize them―or the reputation we’ve worked so hard to build―by selling anything other than world-class gear built to legendary SEAL standards, tough enough to withstand the most extreme and destructive saltwater environments.

That’s our commitment. No exceptions, no compromises.

Access

T3 is headquartered on Naval Amphibious Base Coronado in San Diego, immediately alongside the West Coast SEAL Teams. Coronado is also the site of BUD/S, the fabled Basic Underwater Demolition/ SEAL training program for new recruits.

No other retailer is allowed to operate in such close proximity―or is granted such intimate access―to a U. S. Special Operations Unit. Which makes us the only company with an insider’s knowledge of Special Forces tactics, techniques, procedures, requirements and even shortcomings.

We pour that knowledge into every piece of T3 equipment we sell. So you’re getting not only the highest quality gear available anywhere, but also the most useful and practical―built for the real-life, day-to-day rigors of modern soldiering.

Experience

Bred to be fiercely competitive, Navys SEALs are enthusiasts of virtually every outdoor or paramilitary activity. And our friends (active duty and retired) inform our pursuits in all of these spaces. Functional areas of SEAL and T3 expertise include Extreme Fitness, Adventure Racing, Triathlons, Adventure Travel, Hiking, Camping, Shooting Sports, Climbing, Skydiving, SCUBA diving, Electronics, Communications, Trauma Medicine, Water Sports, Skiing, Small Boat Handling and Advanced On and Off road Driving Skills.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about T3.
