QMCM Steve S. Bukowski, USN (Ret)
It is with great sadness that the UDT-SEAL Association informs its membership about the passing of Master Chief Steve Stanley Bukowski, USN (Ret.). Steve died June 21, 2010 at the age of 55.
QMCM Bukowski was a graduate of Class 91 and served over 32 years in the Naval Special Warfare community as an operator, instructor and mentor with SEAL Teams ONE, THREE, FOUR, EIGHT (Plank Owner), SEAL Delivery Team ONE, Naval Special Warfare Center/Basic Underwater Demolition School (multiple tours), Naval Special Warfare Unit-10 and various other commands.
Described by family, teammates and friends as an indestructible, loyal and an extremely honest man who faced impossible odds with an optimistic attitude and charisma. Steve was a dedicated husband, father and therapeutic foster parent for several children in which his kids proudly boasted, "he's a damn good Dad".
Steve is survived by his faithful and supportive wife of 32 years Lynnette June Bukowski; his children Stephen, Sheri and Aaron; his brother Robert, sisters Rose, Eleanor, Carol and his mother-in-law Sherry as well as countless friends and teammates.
Pre-Reception and viewing will be held from noon to 2:00pm immediately followed by the ceremony at Blaylock Funeral Home of Warrenton, 203 Front St, Warrenton, NC 27589 (252) 257-3175. The family specifically requests those able to attend to share SEAL/Sea Stories of Steve with all during this time of goodbye.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the UDT-SEAL Association, OASIS GRP and Wounded Wear.
