HMCS Michael G. Fullerton

NEWPORT NEWS - Michael 'Doc' George Fullerton, died Sunday, March 7, 2004. He was born June 6, 1963, in Seattle, Wash. Doc graduated from Shelton High School in 1981 and immediately entered the U.S. Navy. After completing Hospital Corpsman School, he soon entered Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training. After graduation in 1983, he was assigned to SEAL Team 3 and eventually to SEAL Team 4. While there, he met his wife, Marly and together they raised their beautiful daughter, Marlita. He was later stationed at NSWG-2 Medical and then at SEAL Delivery Team 2. He actively participated in numerous operations worldwide in defense of his country and it's citizens. He retired from the U.S. Navy, as a SEAL, on Dec. 31, 2003, after 23 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Marly and daughter, Marlita Fullerton; his mother, Arline Fullerton-Rufer of Tacoma, Wash.; father, George Fullerton of Olympia, Wash.; sister, Susan Arline (Fullerton) Fantozzi of Washington; and numerous other relatives. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 12, and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 15, at the Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel, Norfolk. A reception will follow the service at NAB Little Creek Officer's Club. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Michael Fullerton to the Hampton High School Relay for Life, c/o Hampton High School, 1491 West Queen St., Hampton, VA 23669.
