It is with great sadness that the UDT-SEAL Association informs its membership about the passing of HMC George "Herk" Albrecht II, USN (Ret), SEAL Class 109 June 27, 2010.
HMC George "Herk" Albrecht II USN (Ret), SEAL, Class 109
The son of George and Betty Clem Albrecht, he was born May 25, 1956, in Los Alamos, N.M. After graduating from high school, "Herk" enlisted in the Navy, completed training with Class 109 and served his country as a Navy SEAL.
After his honorable discharge "Herk" returned to school and earned a nursing degree. Later in life he received his doctorate as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He was most recently employed as a nurse at the Park County Detention Center.
George was a member of the VFW and enjoyed cooking, camping and snowboarding.
He is survived by sons Jerin of Springfield, Mo., Josh (Sarina) of Bryan, Texas, Herky of Cody, and a daughter Nikki (Justin) Thompson of San Antonio, Texas, four grandchildren, his father George of Universal City, Texas, brothers Will (Teresa) Albrecht of Springfield, and Rodger Albrecht of Universal City, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and step-mother Bernice.
A memorial service was conducted June 29 at the VFW Hall.
